Grammarly is a cloud-based cross-platform writing assistant that examines spelling, Grammar, punctuation, precision, engagement, and real-time delivery. It uses AI to detect a suitable replacement for it and to detect it. In addition, it allows users to customize their style, tone, and context-specific language. It was published in 2009 by Alex Shevchenko, Max Lightvine, and Demetro Leader. The software is produced by Grammarly Inc., headquartered in San Francisco, California, with offices in Kyiv, New York, and Vancouver.
In May 2017, the company raised 110 million in its first round of funding in October 2019; the company raised 90 million during the second round of funding, valued at more than 11 billion. In 2018, Grammar released a beta version of its browser extension, optimized for Google Docs.
